Justin Arender
Pastor Justin William Arender, Pastor of Abney Memorial Baptist Church, Greenwood, South Carolina is a native of Mississippi. He was raised in a Christian home and accepted Jesus into his heart at a young age. He is the son of Pastor Duane (now deceased) and Diane Arender and is the second of four sons.
He met his wife, Angie, at church where his Dad was Pastor. She has been the love of his life for twenty-one (21) years. They have four beautiful daughters, Laken, Lauren, Laci, and Laina.
On July 24, 2004, Justin was ordained to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. He pastored in Louisiana for five years and at the death of his Dad in July 2009 he and Angie made a trip with his mother back to the Philippine Islands where his parents were serving as Missionaries. It was then he knew the call on his and his
family’s lives was about to change. He was being called to the mission field where he continued to walk in his calling. Justin and his family moved to the Island of La Union, Philippines in 2010 where he planted churches and continued to transition the missions to churches that his dad planted. He shared the gospel over several Islands, telling them the great news of Jesus Christ. In 2013 Justin once again got the call from the Lord to pastor in the states where he and his family moved to St. Charles, Missouri where he would be for the next nine years serving. While there he would continue his education and receive his Doctrine in Theology. In November of 2022, he answered the call to pastor Abney Memorial Baptist Church, Greenwood, SC. God has been preparing him for such a time as this. He accepted the call to preach, teach, and tell others of the great love of our Savior Jesus Christ for 20 years and he has shared the message continuously.
Justin loves to hunt, fish, and canoe. He has taken several on prayer retreats to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area in North Minnesota.
But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. ( 1Cor 15:57-58)
